Google has introduced new searchable transcripts for movies you retailer in Google Drive. The function is rolling out to all Google Workspace customers, beginning as we speak and ending by March twenty sixth.
The transcripts look rather a lot like these you’d see on YouTube. If one is on the market, it’ll seem in a sidebar subsequent to the video as blocks of timestamped textual content, with every block highlighted because it’s spoken within the video you’re watching. The search bar for the transcript sits on the high of this sidebar, and clicking on particular textual content blocks will take you to that second within the video. You may see the transcripts by clicking the settings icon on the backside of the video after which selecting “Transcript.”
The transcript choice is just out there if the video already has captions, as indicated by the CC button that exhibits up within the controls alongside the underside of the Google Drive video participant. If a video doesn’t have captions, you may create them by right-clicking a video file in Drive, selecting “Handle caption tracks,” after which “generate computerized captions.”
