Following a courtroom order that blocks Apple from taking a fee on purchases made outdoors the App Retailer, Epic Video games CEO Tim Sweeney says on X that the corporate plans to carry Fortnite again to iOS within the US “subsequent week.”
The app hasn’t been out there on iOS within the US since August 2020, when Apple kicked it off the App Retailer for implementing Epic’s personal in-app cost system in violation of Apple’s guidelines. Since then, Apple and Epic have been embroiled in an ongoing authorized battle, together with a ruling extra in Apple’s favor in 2021 and immediately’s ruling that may be a main victory for Epic.
Sweeney additionally provided a “peace proposal” from Epic to Apple in his publish on X. “If Apple extends the courtroom’s friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide, we’ll return Fortnite to the App Retailer worldwide and drop present and future litigation on the subject.”
